About the Doctor

JOHN N. NASEDKIN, D.D.S., F.R.C.D.(C)., F.A.D.M.
Dr. Nasedkin graduated with a D.D.S. from the University of Alberta in 1959 where he was awarded a Gold Ring for participation in student activities. His Clinical Fellowship in Dental Medicine at the Forsyth Dental Center in Boston, Massachusetts, was followed by three years of practice and study in London, England.
He is a certified specialist in prosthodontics (Fellow, Royal College of Dentists of Canada) and a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry and of the Academy of Dental Materials. Dr. Nasedkin has for many years been an Examiner in Prosthodontics of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Memberships include the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontists, the International College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a Master Tutor of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (UK).
He founded the highly successful "Biology of Occlusion" programs of The American Equilibration Society of which he is a Past - President. He is the moderator and program coordinator of the annual Pacific Implant Symposium and is the mentor of TEST, The Esthetic Study Team, and associated groups in many cities.
Dr. Nasedkin is a Past President of the American Equilibration Society. This is the world's largest Occlusion/TMD organization, which will celebrate it's 50th Anniversary in Chicago Feb. 22-24 2005. Dr. Nasedkin has presented programs on Occlusion/T M Joint and Esthetics on a world-wide basis. He was the section editor of Cranio (The Journal of Craniomandibular Practice) and the co-editor of the book, "Occlusion: The State of the Art". He had an article published in the July/August 2003 issue of the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association.
He is now a consultant in esthetics, TMD and mouth rehabilitation.
Dr. Nasedkin brings a wealth of experience to his areas of interest.
- ESTHETIC DENTISTRY:
He is the mentor of the first esthetic study club in Canada (1984) and is the author of the first article on Porcelain Veneers in the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association. He was chosen by Nobel Biocare to introduce the Procera all-ceramic crown across Canada.
- PROSTHETIC DENTISTRY:
Dr. Nasedkin is interviewed in the Canadian Journal of Dental Technology
(Spectrum) in the 2004 fall issue. This is an interview with a dental technician on the current state of Prosthetic Dentistry. He is particularly skilled at quaterbacking treatments that require other specialist involvements - the multi-disciplinary approach.
- BITE AND JAW PROBLEMS: Dr. Nasedkin presented a course in May of 2004 at the University of Alberta on Dental Occlusion (How teeth mesh and function). He has been a teacher of this subject all over the world and is a former President of the American Equilibration Society, the world's largest organization in this field.
